rbr reid pp

This blog is a reproduction of the original readme.txt found in the rbr reid pp en.7z package.

1 the basic pack (mandatory)

The idea of this pack is to allow a problem free use – at all times – of RBR's original English co-driver with Pacenote Plugin.

The same installation method is used for every mandatory/optional step of the way: Copy/cut Plugins → paste to your RBR installation → replace all files when asked.

This tiny "expansion" mod comes with a couple of extra calls, namely crest, over, over bridge and 20. All possibilities have truly been exhausted (not!). Hardly a cause to celebrate and if it's partying you're after, perhaps a switch to a more modern co-driver mod might be in order.

The so-called pacenote and range types have also been expertly forced to ensure consistency throughout – regardless of a special stage.

The basic pack consists only of RBR's original distance calls, but a whole host of additional distances can be installed separately (step 3).

This mod is fully compatible with the Numnotes mod by Kegetys because apart from the Flat fix (step 5), this doesn't alter the corner calls in any way (in fact, your Audio folder won't be modified at any stage).

2 mute the wrong plus and minus calls (optional)

Intriguingly, in RBR every language except English have samples for plus and minus so the ones included in Pacenote Plugin installation files and what are heard in-game by default are the German ones, presumably for "shop demonstration purposes". The reality is, however, that plus and minus calls are VERY RARELY used on any custom pacenotes anyway so I could have easily muted them already in the basic pack but I thought that this deficiency perhaps should be pointed out clearly so it doesn't come as a surprise later on.

3 distances (optional)

As stated earlier, the basic pack doesn't add any new ones as it's just the original RBR distances, meaning 30-50-70-100-150-200-300-400-500-600... 1000.

But if they're not enough for you, how about these custom ones:

1) 30-40-50-60-70-80-100-120-130-140-150-160-170-180-200-250-300-350-400-450-500-600... 1000.

or

2) 30-50-70-100-130-150-170-200-250-300-350-400-450-500-600... 1000.

If necessary, you can always modify the distances more to your liking by editing \Plugins\Pacenote\config\ranges\packages\rbr\Rbr.ini and you can also easily restore the original ranges file if the custom ones weren't for you.

4 alternatives for onto (optional)

In RBR onto.ogg is really just another instance of "into" and while there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, for the sake of adding things I've also added "to" and "over". Yes, there's gotta be some pointless options, otherwise this would be all too simple.

5 ffffixing fffflat right and left (optional)

You may not have even noticed it but the original flat-samples are more like "lat" without the f, so I've borrowed the f from another sample (batterys_flat.ogg). Obviously this particular fix isn't meant for Numnotes users.

6 BONUS: language files for Numnotes users (optional)

This bonus step edits the corner strings from descriptive to numeric easily depending on which version of Numnotes you have installed.
